Warlock/Demonology

Demonology

Destroy them, my minion!

Talent Build

This is a pretty straight forward spec, remember this is not the end all be all spec, but this is your best spec for ultimate output of DPS.

0/31/10

Glyphs

Your Prime Glyphs are pretty straight forward:
  • Glyph of Metamorphosis
  • Glyph of Immolate
  • Glyph of Incinerate or Glyph of Felguard

Major Glyphs would be:
  • Glyph of Life Tap
  • Glyph of Shadowbolt
  • Your preference - as there are no DPS glyphs to add here

Minor Glyphs are all your personal choice as there are no DPS glyphs for us.

Which one of my nasty little demons should I use?

This is a HUGE change for Demonologists. The Felhunter is now the top DPS pet for single target fights. For AoE/Multi Target fights, summon your Felguard.

I have all these spells... how do I use them?

Casting Priority:
  • Improved Soul Fire - You want to keep this buff up at all times! With the change to the destruction talent tree, demonologists can no longer get the buff to Soul Fire, so only cast Soul Fire when Decimation procs.
  • Metamorphosis
  • Demon Soul
  • Immolate
  • Hand of Guldan - which will refresh your Immolate
  • Bane of Doom
  • Immolation Aura
  • Corruption
  • Shadowflame
  • Incinerate - Molten Core Proc's
  • Soul Fire - Decimation Procs
  • Shadowbolt

Confused Yet???

It is a basically all about keeping your DoTS and Immolate active (using HoG to refresh it), while using your cooldowns (Demon Soul and Metamorphosis) as often as possible.

Immolate, Bane of Doom and Corruption should have as much uptime as possible, while using Hand of Guldan on cooldown. Incinerate when Molten Core procs and Soul Fire if Decimation is up, otherwise use Shadowbolt.

If it is safe to do so, use Shadowflame and Immolation Aura (Meta) within melee range for increased DPS.

Stat Priority

For Demo locks stat priority is as follows. (Obviously hit to cap is priority)
  • Haste
  • Mastery
  • Crit
At higher gear levels (359 avg and higher)
  • Mastery
  • Haste
  • Crit

Once you are hit-capped try reforging your excess hit or spirit into mastery or haste.

Other little tidbits

A fun tactic for Meta is to place a Demonic circle down early in the fight. When you pop Meta, Charge in pop immolation aura and continue with your casting. When Meta ends port back to the demonic circle.
