The Obsidian Sanctum is a one-boss encounter located in the basement of the Wyrmrest Temple featuring Sartharion and his three twilight drakes, Tenebron, Shadron, and Vesperon. This encounter has a progressive hard mode.
To defeat the encounter normally, clear all the trash including all three of the twilight drakes before engaging Sartharion.
To defeat the encounter on hard mode, clear all the trash EXCLUDING the twilight drakes. When you engage Sartharion, the drakes will join in the encounter one at a time, increasing the difficulty dramatically.
You can choose to take down one or two drakes before engaging Sartharion. The less drakes you kill before engaging Sartharion, the harder the difficulty, but the more loot you receive. Killing Sartharion with all three of his drakes up rewards a special mount.
Sartharion also drops the Heroes' Tier 7 gloves on 10-man and the Valorous Tier 7 gloves on 25-man. For a complete list of loot, see our Obsidian Sanctum progression page for
