The Mage

The Mage is a ranged dps class that is known as a "glass cannon". We can put out some of the best numbers in the game but make sure you don't get aggro cause we don't really make very good tanks. This guide will cover the basics of playing a Mage as well as more in-depth raiding strats and rotations.

Specs

A mage can fulfill their role as ranged DPS in one of three specs:

• Arcane

+ High Burst Damage
+ 3% Dmg Buff
- AoE
- mobility

• Fire - Currently the best raiding spec

+ High Single Target DPS
+ Great mobility due to Firestarter
+ Many AoE capabilities, "AoE burst" with Combustion
+ Good survivability (Cauterize)
+ 5% Crit Debuff

• Frost - Best leveling spec

+ High Single Target DPS
+ AoE Snares (Freeze, talented Blizzard, 2x Ring of Frost)
+ High survivability (Ice Barrier)
+ Replenishment
o Some mobility because of instants in the usual rotation
