Restoration Druid Guide
Stats
Intellect - Our #1 stat, increases our spellpower, mana pool, and crit chance.
Haste - Increases the speed you can cast spells, makes our hots tick faster, and also lowers the gcd to 1 second. You can also get additional hot ticks with enough haste, at 2005 you will get an additional rejuvenation tick and this is the amount of haste you will want to be aiming for.
Spirit - Increases our mana regen in and out of combat. At level 85 you want to find a number of combat regen that you are comfortable with.
Mastery - Increases the potency of your direct healing spells by 16% and casting a direct healing spell (for example: regrowth, nourish and healing touch), you gain 16% additional healing to your healing over time effects. Each point of Mastery increases each bonus by an additional 1.25%. Once reaching 2005 haste you will want to get as much mastery as possible.
Crit - Crit is now a more useful stat to us because our HoT effects can now crit in addition to our direct heals.
Spellpower - We'll be getting this from Intellect. Now only on weapons and a few enchants, we can't gem for this anymore.
So stat priorities: Intellect>>spirit>haste(upto2005)>Mastery>Crit
Talent Analysis
Restoration tree
Blessing of the Grove - Rejuvenation is still our top spell but 2 points for a 4% increase in rejuvenations healing done isn't all that great, the points are better spent elsewhere.
Naturalist - Reduces the cast time of nourish and healing touch by .3/.5 seconds. It's going to help with your single target healing quite a bit and worth the points.
Heart of the Wild - 3/3 increases your Intellect by 6%. Intellect is now our top stat so this talent is required.
Perseverance - Reduces all spell damage taken. Useful if you had extra points leftover but there are better talents you can pickup instead.
Master Shapeshifter - Increases healing by 4% in Tree of Life and your casting form. For 1 point this talent is mandatory.
Improved Rejuvenation - Increases the effect of your Rejuvenation and Swiftmend.
Living Seed - When you critically heal a target with Swiftmend, Regrowth, Nourish or Healing Touch spell you plant a Living Seed on the target for 30% of the amount healed. The Living Seed will bloom when the target is next attacked. It's good to have for raid and tank healing.
Revitalize - When you periodically heal with your Rejuvenation or Lifebloom spells, you have a 20% chance to instantly regenerate 3% of your total mana. This effect cannot occur more than once every 6 sec. Also we now gain Replenishment whenever we cast or refresh Lifebloom. This is very useful to have and is a big part of your mana regen.
Nature's Swiftness - Makes your next nature spell with a base casting time of less then 10 seconds an instant cast. It's good to make a macro with this and Healing Touch. This also increases healing by 50% for that spell.
Fury of Stormrage - 2/2 Reduces the mana cost of your Wrath spell by 100%, and when you deal damage with your Wrath spell you have a 12% chance to cause your next Starfire to be instant cast within 8 sec. It sounds great and it may be more useful at level 85 but your not going to be spending much time dpsing. This is more or less of a PvP talent.
Malfurion's Gift - Whenever you heal with your Lifebloom spell, you have a 4% chance to cause Omen of Clarity. Omen of Clarity grants you one free spell that has a cast time (for example nourish, regrowth and healing touch). This is helpful when mana is an issue or when you combine it with Natures Swiftness and healing touch to save someones life.
Nature's Bounty - 3/3 Increases the critical effect chance of your Regrowth spell by 60%, and you have a 100% chance when you critically heal with Healing Touch and Nourish to reduce the remaining cooldown of your Swiftmend spell by 0.5 sec. This is a very strong talent to take.
Empowered Touch - Increases the healing done by your Healing Touch and Nourish spells by 10%, and your Nourish spell has a 100% chance to refresh the duration of your Lifebloom on targets. Good for tank healing and let's you be a more flexible healer.
Efflorescence - 3/3 When you heal with your Swiftmend spell you also sprout a bed of healing flora underneath the target, healing all nearby friendly targets within 15 yards for 60% of the amount healed by your Swiftmend over 7 sec. It's good to have another AoE!
Wild Growth - Heals up to 5 friendly party or raid members within 15 yards of the target. Prioritizes healing most injured party members. The amount healed is applied quickly at first, and slows down as the Wild Growth reaches its full duration. Our primary AoE heal, the cooldown was increased to 10 seconds.
Nature's Cure - Your corruption now also removes 1 magic effect. It's good to have and your probably going to want to pick this up.
Nature's Ward - Whenever you take an attack while at or below 50% health, you have a 100% chance to automatically cast Rejuvenation on yourself with no mana cost. Primarily a PvP talent but it can be useful if you enjoy standing in fires.
Gift of the Earthmother - 3/3 Increases the healing done when your Lifebloom expires by 15%, and causes your Rejuvenation spell to also instantly heal for 15% of the total periodic effect. The Rejuvenation proc is especially good to have.
Swift Rejuvenation - 2/2 Reduces the global cooldown of your Rejuvenation by 0.5 sec. Good to have since Rejuvenation will more then likely be your top healing ability. Note this is currently bugged, so you can either take 0/2 or 2/2.
Tree of Life - Shapeshift into the tree of life, increasing healing done by 15% and increasing your armor by 120%. In addition, some of your spells are temporarly enhanced while shapeshifted. Lasts 30 seconds, 3 minute cooldown. Your required to take this, and it's the best talent we can get.
Balance and Feral trees
Furor -3/3 Increases your maximum mana by 15%. This may be useful at level 85 but for now don't bother taking it.
Nature's Majesty -2/2 Increases your crit by 4%. This is good to have since our HoT's can now crit.
Nature's Grace - Your not going to want this anymore.
Genesis and Moonglow - Your just going to have to wait
Talent Builds
http://wowtal.com/#k=qCNdiOZC.a5o.druid. - Standard build, you can take out 3 points from the Restoration tree and put them into Furor but you probably won't be having mana trouble at level 80.
Spells
Healing
Regrowth - Our fast but expensive heal. Has a direct heal and then a 6 second hot (3 ticks). This spell should be used in area's where there is alot of damage and you have alot of people to heal.
Nourish - Fast but not regrowth fast heal. This is a good heal to use when topping people up or you already have distributed rejuvenations and wild growths.. The healing nourish does still increases for each hot you have on the target, so this can be good to use on tanks. It also will refresh the duration of your lifebloom if you spend talent points in Empowered Touch.
Healing Touch - Our slow, expensive, but very strong heal. We won't be using this very much but use it when when someone is about to die or if you are on tank healing duties. Also can be very useful when combined with Natures Swiftness and Omen of Clarity.
Rejuvenation - Still our primary heal for the raid.
Lifebloom - Can now only be used on one target (unless in Tree of Life). It no longer returns mana when you let it finish the duration and "bloom" and the mana cost was significantly reduced, so you can go ahead and roll a stack on a tank. Also you should try and not let this fall of whichever target you choose to apply to.
Wild Growth - Heals 5 raid members within 15 yards of the target. The cooldown was increased to 10 seconds.
Swiftmend - Heals a target that has an active rejuvenation or regrowth effect. Now causes Efflorescence which heals all nearby friendly targets within 8 yards of the target.
Nature's Swiftness - Causes your next nature spell that has less then a 10 second cast time to be an instant cast. It's a good idea to macro this with your healing touch for an "oh shit" button.
Tranquility - Heals 5 nearby lowest health raid members within 40 yards. Also causes a stacking HoT. Still must be channeled.
Tree of Life - The biggest change is our Tree of Life being moved to a 3 minute cooldown (lasts 30 sec.). Tree of Life now increases our healing done by 15% and armor by 120%. It also temporarily enhances a few of our abilities.
- Regrowth: Becomes instant cast.
- Wild Growth: Heals two additional targets.
- Lifebloom: Usable on more then one target,
- Wrath: Cast time reduded by 50% and damage increased by 30%.
- Entangling Roots: Becomes instant cast and the damage is increased by 200%.
Utility
Mark of the Wild - Increases the friendly target's Strength, Agility, Stamina, and Intellect by 5%, and all magical resistances by 65 for one hour. This replaced Gift of the Wild and no longer requires any reagents (yay!). Also note Mark and King's no longer stack, they are the same exact buff now.
Thorns - Causes nature damage to attackers (lasts 20 seconds, 45 second cooldown). Due to the recent nerf to thorns you probably will not be using this spell very much at all as resto. You can cast thorns on a tank before a pull but be careful not to cast it while the mob is being pulled as you can get threat from casting buffs.
Innervate - Causes the target to regenerate 5% of the druids maximum mana pool over 10seconds.If cast on self the druid will gain an additional 15% mana. if cast on any target other then the caster (you) you gain 10% mana over 10seconds
Barksin - Reduces all damage by 20% for 12 seconds with only 1 minute cooldown. Use your barkskin often when you are taking any fairly significant damage.
Soothe - Soothes the target, dispelling all enrage effects. Bind this to a key and cast on any non-boss mob that turns big and red.
Rebirth - Our battle resurrection, it now has a 10 minute cooldown so it is very important not to waste battle rez's until called for by the raid leader. Note Rebirth is also currently bugged for some people and not letting them cast if another druid has already used it in the past 30 minutes.
Remove Corruption - Removes 1 curse and 1 poison effect from the friendly target. If you put a point into Nature's Cure you can also remove 1 magic effect. This is our only cleansing ability now.

Addons
As a healer you are going to want an addon for raid frames, the blizzard frames are still bulky and annoying. You are also going to want an addon that will let you use mouse over healing. What this does is allow you to highlight or mouse over a player and use a key bound ability to cast onto them.
Clique and Grid, VuhDo, and Healbot are the most popular healing addons used and are very similar. It will come down to preference for which route you decide to go.
