Six Minutes To Release Rules

These rules are largely for our raiders. Players that haven't reached level 80, however, should still read all of sections 1, 2, and 3 to understand the guild structure and what is expected of every member.

1. Ranks

  • Guild Master (GM) - The guild master is responsible for the overall organization and the daily operations of the guild.
  • GM Assistant - The GM Assistant is responsible for the daily operations of the guild, acting with the GM's authority when the GM is not around.
  • Raid Captain - Raid Captains are members who have shown a strong ability to lead in raid situations. While there are many raid captains, only one of them is assigned per raid, and it is expected that all members of the raid follow the instructions of the assigned raid captain. Note that the GM Assistant and Guild Master can also act as Raid Captains.
  • Raid Lieutenant - Lieutenants are members of the gear who know their class and toon well, and are willing to help out other raiders with their toons. These players volunteer their time and help out others that may be struggling.
  • Raider - General raiding member. To be a raider, you must be level 80 and have the sponsorship of a Raid Lieutenant or higher.
  • Raider Alt - A Raider Alt is a player's toon that is not ready to be a Raider. However, that player has another toon that is already a Raider. This rank simply identifies to the Raid Captains that there is a Raider available online, but playing another toon.
  • Member - A member is any player who is not actively raiding on any of their toons. Please note that while other guild members will be glad to give you advice and may occasionally help you with quests and other services, there is no free ride here, and you should not expect things to be handed to you freely. It is expected that you put the work in to learn your toon, and not just leech your way through the game, because when it comes to the endgame, not knowing how to play your toon properly will lead to wipes and a general waste of everyone's time.
  • Timeout - A member in timeout has recently been misbehaving. This toon is unable to speak to the rest of the guild via guild chat. To be removed from Timeout one way or another, speak with the Guild Master or GM Assistant.

Regardless of rank, every member of the guild is expected to treat every other member of the guild with respect. If you have any issues with anyone, no matter what your guild rank or their guild rank is, speak with the Guild Master or the GM Assistant, and we will do our best to resolve the issue.
2. Membership

Generally, anyone may join the guild, so long as you are following Blizzard's Terms of Service. The reason for this is because the effects of not following the Terms of Service can have on the guild could be quite devastating: you could be suspended during a raid, you could be banned, guildmates who have traded gold or items with you could be banned, and so on.

There may be times that we become CLOSED to certain classes or other subsets of players. Please see our Apply page for further information.

Please note that the Guild Master or GM Assistant has the authority to approve or deny any incoming member, and they also have the authority to remove anyone from the guild at any time.
3. Guild Bank

For withdrawing items from the guild bank, please see the Info tab of each guild bank tab for a description of the tab and rules regarding the items in that tab.

Many tabs work on an honor system. Please only withdraw items that you will actually use to help your character. Don't withdraw something just to sell it, or to craft an item for profit.

For any of the tabs, if there is something missing that you would like to see, please let the Guild Master or GM Assistant know.

Raiders are given a 100 gold daily allowance for repairing equipment.
4. Raid Schedule

Raid times are daily between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm Pacific time, the time zone Korialstrasz is in, but often will go later if the group is willing. The particular raids for the week vary, but we typically strive for 4 25-man nights, 1 10-man night, a "wildcard" night (can be 10- or 25-man), and a fun night. There is no required attendance policy, but if you sign up for a raid, you are expected to be there until at least 8:30 pm, although exceptions can be made if you speak with the Raid Captain.
5. Raid Attendance

Raid attendance is very important. Without it, we will never reach the endgame content that we all want to see. Therefore, the following attendance rules are in effect:

  • Make use of the in game calendar to notify us when you can and can't raid. Please note that only main characters will be able to see the in game calendar.
  • If an emergency comes up, or you know that you are going to be late for a raid, do your best to let a Raid Captain know what is going on. If you are unable to let us know in advance, do let us know as soon as possible.
  • If you frequently do not show up for raids and fail to let us know, you may be in danger of losing your Raiding status. Every person's scheduling and reasons are going to be unique, so each decision is handled on a case-by-case basis by the Guild Master.
6. Loot Priority System

When a piece of loot drops, it is common for a number of people to want the item. To help best distribute gear to allow the guild to gear up faster, a prioritization system is used.

Who can receive a piece of loot is prioritized by the following list:

  • Main Spec - Your main spec is your preferred and primary raiding spec. When an item drops that you wish to have for your main spec, you are qualified to receive this item at this tier.
  • Dual Spec - Your dual spec is your secondary spec that you raid in when it is required due to low raider turnout. If an item drops for your dual spec, you are only qualified to receive this item at this tier if no one wanted the item for their main spec.
  • Off Spec - Your off spec is any other spec that does not fall into the above category. You are only qualified to receive an item at this tier if it is not for your Main Spec or Off Spec and it actually makes sense for your character to be able to use it, even if it's for a spec you don't often use.
  • No one wants it - If no one accepts a piece of loot for any of the three tiers above, it should be disenchanted if possible, and the resulting materials rolled for by the entire raid. Otherwise, the raid should just roll greed for the item, and the highest roller will receive the item for vendoring.

Further, you are only qualified to receive items as Main Spec or Dual Spec when:

  • The type of armor matches your highest armor worn. For instance, hunters are only qualified for mail gear, not leather or cloth gear.
  • The stats on the item make sense for your spec. For instance, holy and discipline priests are only qualified for cloth items that do not have hit rating.
  • You are a Feral Combat Druid and the item can fit either a Cat DPS set or a Bear Tank set. Feral Combat Druids are often asked to perform two roles over the course of a raid, and thus it is preferred for them to have optimal gear for both sets.
  • You do not already own something substantially better.

Reasons to take an item for Off Spec include, but are not limited to:

  • The armor class is lower than your class is allowed to wear, but is otherwise an upgrade to your Main Spec gear.
  • You want to play around with the item outside of raiding.
  • For classes that can fill three roles, the item is good for a third spec.

Members are encouraged to discuss the item that dropped, and it is acceptable - but not required - to pass on an item that would be an upgrade to you if you wish for someone else to receive it. Remember, a small upgrade for you may be a big upgrade for someone else, and courteous looting leads to faster gearing for the guild as a whole.

Please note you may only have one dual spec. For instance, Holy Paladins must choose between Retribution and Protection for their dual spec, they cannot roll dual spec for both Retribution and Protection items.

Also note that to qualify for dual spec at all, the role of your dual spec (tank, DPS, or healer) must be different from the role of your main spec. We don't want druids to gear up both a balance and a feral combat DPS set, because then they cannot fill another role if required without respecing. The dual spec portion of loot system is for the benefit of the guild as a whole, not the individual.
7. Loot Awarding System

In situations where an item drops and the item is necessary for the guild's progression through content, and there are Raid Captains present in the raid that do not yet have the item, the raid leader should see to it that a Raid Captain who doesn't have the item yet receives it. This is so that if that Raid Captain is the only one available to run a scheduled raid and the item is required, we can proceed with that raid. If all Raid Captains have the item, it may be looted as normal. An example of such an item would be Key to the Focusing Iris.

In situations where an item drops and contains multiple pieces in order to be assembled into a larger piece, the first such item is done via the loot list. However, after that every other item that person needs to assemble the larger item will automatically go to them without them losing their position on the loot list a second time. This is so that we can the larger item in the guild faster than we would be able to if we spread the items around. An example of such an item would be Fragment of Val'anyr, which leads to the larger item of Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings.

In 10-man raids, or in any raid where one or more members of the raid is not part of our guild, we will simply /roll for loot. The rolls should follow the priority system outlined above, with a call for Main Spec rolls first, followed by Dual Spec rolls, and then Off Spec rolls.

We use a system similar to Suicide Kings to distribute loot in 25-man raids. Here's the details on how the system works:

  • Every guild member of rank Raider and higher must use the website to create a toon under the Account section.
  • Your toon's name is then added to the bottom of the guild Main Spec Loot List.
  • If you have the Dual Spec achievement, you may request with the Guild Master for your name to be added to the bottom of the Dual Spec Loot List, which will be used when the item is available at the Dual Spec tier.
  • If you are not in a raid because you were late, not online, not in the raid's group, or otherwise unavailable, your position on the guild loot list is frozen for the duration of that raid. If you were on time and are marked as an alternate, you are not subject to freezing. If you later join the raid, your position on the list will become unfrozen.
  • When a piece of loot drops, the loot master will inform the raid that the item is available, usually requesting players to send private tells indicating that they want the item.
  • Requests still follow the loot priority system indicated above. At first, only those who qualify for their Main Spec may request the item. Then the item is opened up to Dual Specs if no one wants it, followed by Off Specs.
  • If you have the highest spot on the loot list of those who wanted the item and were qualified for it, you receive the item and move to the bottom of the loot list. If there were bidders who were higher than you on the list, you do not lose your spot. In fact, you move up a spot because the person who won gets moved to the bottom of the list.
  • In the event no one wants the item for their Main Spec or their Dual Spec, it is open for Off Spec, and the winner is determined by a simple /roll. Note that you cannot roll for an item for a Main Spec or a Dual Spec. Toons for whom the item is useful for their Main Spec or Dual Spec may NOT roll to prevent abuse of the system.
  • The loot system only applies in Wrath of the Lich King raids, and only to epic quality items or greater, patterns that result in Bind on Pickup items that are of epic quality or greater, or quest items that immediately result in a piece of loot.
  • For Bind on Equip items, only Main Spec and Dual Spec priorities are considered, and then the item is rolled for greed.
  • For non-binding patterns that create Bind on Pickup gear, only Main Spec and Dual Spec priorities are considered. Before the item is rolled for greed, players with alts who can use the pattern are invited to roll on the item before it is opened up for greed.
8. Raiding

When raiding, the following rules apply:

  • Use of Ventrilo is generally required. Exceptions can be made, but keep in mind that in certain fights you will not be included if you do not have Ventrilo, as voice communication can be very important. Members of rank Raid Captain and higher must be able to speak over Ventrilo, however all other members do not need to have a microphone. Please keep chatter to a minimum when the Raid Captain is giving instructions.
  • Use of certain addons is required. See the addons page for more details.
  • Each raid has an assigned Raid Captain. In 25-man groups, this is chosen either by the Guild Master or the GM Assistant. In 10-man groups, that group's Raid Captains can choose amongst themselves who leads.
  • Understand that the assigned Raid Captain is in control. It is okay to suggest different ways to do something, but the assigned Raid Captain's decision is final.
  • Open arguing will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with the way the assigned Raid Captain is handling the raid, first FINISH OUT THE RAID, and then inform the Guild Master or GM Assistant.
  • Throughout the raid, the assigned Raid Captain may delegate various responsibilities to other Raid Captains or raiders, so stay alert to instructions given over Ventrilo.
  • Never go AFK during a raid without letting the Raid Captain know. You have anywhere between 9 and 24 other people that rely on you to be there for the full raid in order to progress. If at all possible, limit being AFK to immediately after boss fights. Players who get flagged for being AFK are subject to removal from the raid at the Raid Captain's discression.
